Pediatric Eye Diseases and Strabismus

 

Routine check-ups are extremely important in childhood, the first being a few months after birth. In this first examination, it is possible to diagnose very important diseases such as congenital cataracts, glaucoma and intraocular tumors. The main diseases seen in the pediatric age group are;

 

Tear duct obstructions

Congenital mass or cysts of the eyelid and around the eyes

Vascular masses (hemangiomas)

-Eyelid drooping

Structural disorders of the eyelid

Congenital cataracts, glaucoma

Congenital or subsequent strabismus

Refractive errors such as myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism

Eyelid infections.
